Anna Tweeddale is an urbanist, designer and artist based between Melbourne and Europe and is founding director of Studio Apparatus. She has a Masters degree in Architecture and Urban Culture from the Metropolis Postgraduate Program in Barcelona and has also lived/ worked in Berlin, Granada, London and Brisbane. Anna teaches regularly at Monash, Melbourne and RMIT Universities (Melbourne) and has been a guest critic and universities in Australia, Canada, Germany and Spain. She writes for a number of journals and publications on architecture, cities, urban culture and art. In 2004 Anna was awarded the Lord Mayors Fellowship for Emerging Artists and the A.E. Brookes Travelling Scholarship in Architecture from the University of Queensland. Anna is motivated by an intense fascination with the complex formations and transformations of cities and territories as well as the diverse cultural ecologies that inhabit them.

Anna collaborates on design, research and publishing projects with teams of interdisciplinary practitioners and thinkers (from disciplines such as architecture and landscape design, urban economics and planning, sustainable design technologies, interactive arts and cultural practices, new media, and urban theory). In 2012 Anna founded Studio Apparatus to pursue projects-based collaborations.
